It reads: mentioned to secure said notes - that said mortgage owned by the testator during his lifetime and at his death and came into possession of the plaintiffs as part of said MacFarlan's estate. II. That as deponent is informed and believes, neither of the defendants is a resident of the state of Florida but he said the R. McGwinn Davis resides in the City of New Orleans in the state of Louisiana and he the said John Calvin Cofield in Assension Parrish in the said state of Louisiana and that said defendents can not either of them be found in the state of Florida. III That the defendants have property in the state of Florida - towit they hold and own the lands mortgaged by said mortgage subject thereto and that they are proper parties to this action, they having and owning the equity of redemption of said mortgage, and thereby having an interest in said lands mortgaged by said mortgage.
