By 1977, when the Society turned over their collection to the Eaton Room collection of the then-new Manatee County Central Library, there were 6,250 negatives in the collection. Klein was born in Manatee County from a family that settled at Sarasota in 1843. "Klein" was president of the Manatee County Historical Society from 1966-1967.
