He traded photos and negatives with the Bradenton Herald newspaper to provide the Manatee County Historical Society with copies of the paper?s old photos and gave copies of the Society?s photos and negatives to the newspaper. By 1977, when the Society turned over their collection to the Eaton Room collection of the then-new Manatee County Central Library, there were 6,250 negatives in the collection. Klein was born in Manatee County from a family that settled at Sarasota in 1843. "Klein" was president of the Manatee County Historical Society from 1966-1967.
