The Cooper girl sitting on the throne chair was the one elected queen. The men standing in rear are, left to right, Bill Lowe, then former Manatee County Sheriff Joe "Big Joe" Gates, Charlie Pelot, Claude Gates wearing a hat and "Little Joe" Gates. Claude and "Little Joe" Gates were the brother and cousin of Sheriff Big Joe" Gates.
